LED Recessed Lights

Also known as LED can lights or LED downlights, LED recessed lights are utilized for a vast range of residential, retail and commercial applications. This lighting platform offers a range of subtle downlights from the use of baffle and reflector trim while a more glamorous appearance can be achieved with extrinsic frosted lens trim. LED is an acronym for "light emitting diode;" it's a durable, solid state semiconductor that uses no filaments or toxic substances such as mercury or lead. As such, it's the most "green" lighting choice available. Energy Star rated LED recessed lighting saves up to 50% in electricity over compact fluorescent lamps and produces very little heat, thereby reducing cooling costs. Moreover, its light output remains constant over time with a service life rated at 35,000 hours or 12 years if used 8 hours a day. Perhaps most importantly, LED downlights emit no harmful ultraviolet or infrared light, thus protecting artwork and fabrics from color deterioration. Easily dimmed, they are highly adjustable with no flickering light. While LED recessed lights are most commonly found as 4-inch canisters, BuildersLighting.com has many 6-inch LED recessed lights as well. Choose from hundreds of kits, trim, can lights and retrofit modules finished in distinctive tones such as satin nickel/satin chrome, stainless, silver and white. You'll find many models rated for use in wet/damp locations
